Our Hobby

When we feel that all our strength has run out during our viticultural and enological works, we go out to our old oak forest in Pécsely, which is located in the Balaton Uplands National Park. There lives our herd of native Hungarian grey cattle.

The happiness and the loud welcoming sounds of our cattle make us forget about the everyday hardships.

Of course this is not just given, it had to be earned, these wild animals needed to let us into their lives, we needed to earn their trust. Although they are completely self-sufficient animals we visit them almost every day, to make sure everything goes well, the hay bales get refilled, the salt blocks get changed regularly. These little additions to their care make them even more resilient and strong animals so that they can live a happy life and reproduce.

Some of our groups that come for tastings with some extra time on their schedules visit our cattle, because their enclosure is located just a few hundred meters from the winery.

We had younger groups as well in our winery, which makes us happy and proud of the new generations, that they still care about this field which is so close to nature and rooted deeply in tradition after all the online and urbanized impulses they are surrounded with, which provide instant gratification as oppose to a longer process like winemaking. This shows us that we are still on the right path and provide a good example for the future.
